LedgerSync (working name)
Idea status: Idea stage · Target: an MRR ladder ($1k → $50k) instead of one fixed number · Verdict: No as described. Go, small, as bulk fix-and-undo for Xero, sold to bookkeeping practices · Last updated: 30 Sept 2026
Start here → WHAT-TO-DO-AND-AVOID.md: odds at each MRR level (with conditions: $1k ~45–60%, $5k ~18–28%, $10k ~8–15%, $20k ~3–7%), 12 do's, 14 avoids, checkpoints.
Where this came from. This idea is row D2 of the 30 Sept 2026 micro-SaaS idea catalog: "sync app sold through one platform's marketplace (Airtable, QuickBooks, Xero)". It was not a feature list supplied by a founder, so there's no stated team, price or traction. See analysis/09.
Name. "LedgerSync" is a working name. Check trademark, domain and existing app-store listing names before using it publicly. The name appears to be used already by an open-source accounting-sync library (unverified), and "Sync" no longer describes the recommended wedge, which is bulk changes with undo. Expect to rename.
The idea in one line (as described): an integration or sync extension sold through one popular platform's app marketplace (Airtable, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books or Tally) that pulls, pushes or bulk-imports data the platform handles poorly.
The recommended wedge in one line: a Xero app for bookkeeping and accounting practices that makes bulk changes to a client's Xero file safely: recode, void, delete and import in bulk, with a preview before anything is written, a snapshot of every record changed, one-click reverse where the API allows it, and a change log to keep on the client file. Priced per practice, across all its client organisations.
Boundaries with other ideas in this portfolio:
- Not statementkit/: no PDF or bank-statement extraction. Input here is data already in Xero, or a CSV the practice already has.
- Not SheetBridge (Google Sheets sync): no spreadsheet add-on, no continuous two-way sync.

Caveat
Team, hours per week available, geography, price and traction were never provided. The assumptions are in analysis/09. Practice churn for cleanup tools, the share of installs that come from Xero App Store search, SaasAnt's Xero plan prices, and whether "undo" is technically possible for each Xero record type are still unverified (see research/10). There is no verified base rate for new marketplace apps reaching a given MRR.
