SellerKit (working name)

Idea status: Idea stage · Target: an MRR ladder ($1k → $50k) instead of one fixed number · Verdict: No as described. Go, small, as a KDP backlist pricing and promo extension for publishers with 20+ titles · Last updated: 30 Sept 2026

Start here → WHAT-TO-DO-AND-AVOID.md: odds at each MRR level (with conditions: $1k ~40–55%, $5k ~14–22%, $10k ~6–11%, $20k ~2–4%), 12 do's, 14 avoids, checkpoints and a kill switch.

Where this came from. This idea is row C8 of the 30 Sept 2026 micro-SaaS idea catalog ("Chrome extension for marketplace sellers"). It was not a feature list supplied by a founder, so there's no stated team, price or traction. See analysis/09.

Name. "SellerKit" is a working name. Once narrowed to KDP authors and publishers, it's also a poor fit: authors don't call themselves sellers. Check trademark, domain and Chrome Web Store listing names before using any name publicly. Don't use "Kindle", "KDP" or "Amazon" in the product name; Amazon's marks can only describe compatibility.

The idea in one line (as described): a subscription Chrome extension that adds bulk-edit, organisation or analytics features to a seller dashboard that the platform neglects: Amazon Merch, KDP, Etsy, eBay, Amazon Seller Central, Meesho or Flipkart.

The idea in one line (recommended): a Chrome extension that works inside the KDP Bookshelf to change prices and royalty options across many books at once, schedule price promotions that revert on their own, and check the backlist for pricing and metadata mistakes.

Research was run on 30 Sept 2026, with a confidence level on each claim. See research/10-verified-research.md.

Caveat

Team, hours per week available, KDP experience and traction were never provided. The assumptions are in analysis/09. Three things are still unverified and could change the verdict (see research/10):

  1. that KDP has no native bulk price update (its help pages show per-title editing only, but one search summary claimed otherwise);
  2. whether Amazon's March 2026 Agent Policy applies, or will be extended, to KDP;
  3. how many KDP publishers have 20+ titles and pay for tools.

There is no verified base rate for paid Chrome extensions reaching a given MRR.
