One-Page Brief
Verdict
No as described. Go, small, as a KDP backlist pricing and promo extension.
As described, a subscription Chrome extension that adds "bulk-edit, organisation or analytics" to any neglected seller dashboard has about a 3% chance of $10k MRR by month 24. It isn't a product yet. It's a template that could point at seven different dashboards, and five of them are either banned, saturated or too cheap. Narrowed to one job on one dashboard (bulk pricing, timed promos and backlist checks inside the Amazon KDP Bookshelf, for publishers with 20+ titles), the odds rise to ~6% at ~15 hrs/week and ~11% full-time. $1k–3k MRR is the realistic outcome. It is not fundable, and it doesn't need to be. See 01 and WHAT-TO-DO-AND-AVOID.md.
The five things that matter
- The proof is real but old, and it's a survivor. Merch Wizard plus KDP Wizard, built solo by Rick Blyth, reached $10k MRR about 4 years after he started (June 2018 to April 2022) and sold at full asking price within 5 hours. His earlier $12.99 one-time extension made $3k in total. Subscriptions work. One-off prices don't. See research/10.
- Amazon Seller Central is now off limits for browser automation. Amazon's Business Solutions Agreement Agent Policy (effective 4 Mar 2026) allows automated seller actions only through the SP-API, and secondary sources say it names browser automation and screen scraping as prohibited. Helium 10 and Jungle Scout own the category anyway.
- Most other dashboards are taken or blocked. Merch on Demand has at least 8 live upload and research extensions. Etsy's API terms bar browser extensions from scraping without written permission, and bulk edit is already sold through the official API (Vela, Evlista, Sale Samurai). Meesho seller extensions sell for ₹29 a month.
- KDP has a neglected job and a trigger event. KDP's help pages describe price changes one title at a time, with no documented bulk or scheduled option. On 7 July 2026 the 70% ebook royalty band rose from $2.99–9.99 to $2.99–12.99, opt-in and title by title. Every prolific author has a backlist to re-check now. Analytics, by contrast, is well served (Book Report, Publisher Champ, KDP's own improved dashboard).
- Platform risk is the business. Amazon can ship bulk pricing, change the Bookshelf page, or extend its Agent Policy to KDP. Easy Folders ($3,700+ MRR at 6 months) had to reposition when ChatGPT shipped Projects. Plan for a DOM break every few months and a native-feature scare every year.
Feature sort (headline)
- Table stakes: preview before any change, an undo log, a free "stuck at 35% royalty" check, a clear "not affiliated with Amazon" statement.
- Real differentiators: bulk price and royalty edits across titles, formats and marketplaces; timed promos that revert; a monthly backlist health report; later, one promo price across KDP, Kobo, Apple and Google Play.
- Distractions: sales analytics, niche and keyword research, new-title bulk upload, Firefox and Safari versions, a web dashboard.
- Liabilities: anything that runs without the user present, auto-login, server-held sessions, scraping Amazon product pages, lifetime deals.
Most likely cause of death
Amazon. Either the page changes and the fix is slow, or KDP ships bulk pricing, or a policy update makes the extension look like a banned agent. Early warning: a breakage that takes more than 48 hours to fix, or any author-group post saying "my account got flagged after using X".
Next 90 days
Do: confirm KDP has no bulk pricing, sell 6–10 done-for-you backlist reprices, ship a free "stuck at 35%" check, then the paid bulk editor and promo scheduler. Reach 20 paying accounts (~15 hrs/week) or 40 (full-time) by day 90. Stop: thinking of this as "a seller extension for any platform". Pick KDP, and say no to the rest.
