ListClean (originally "automated email-list cleaning connected to email platforms")

Idea status: Idea stage · Target: an MRR ladder ($1k → $50k) instead of one fixed number · Verdict: No as described. Go, small, as automatic Klaviyo list hygiene that cuts the Klaviyo bill for Shopify brands · Last updated: 30 Sept 2026

Origin: this idea came from the 30 Sept 2026 micro-SaaS idea catalog, row D7 ("Automated email-list cleaning connected to email platforms"). See ../_research/2026-09-30-micro-saas-idea-catalog.md.

Name: "ListClean" is a working name. Check trademark and domain before using it publicly.

Start here → WHAT-TO-DO-AND-AVOID.md for:

  • odds at each MRR level, with the conditions met ($1k ~45–60%, $5k ~18–30%, $10k ~9–17%, $20k ~4–8%);
  • customer math, the profit and churn checks, 12 do's, 14 avoids and checkpoints.

Why the narrowing: a generic list cleaner sells a commodity. Bouncer, ZeroBounce, NeverBounce, Clearout, Kickbox and Mailfloss already sell verification at $0.002–0.008 per address, and SMTP checks on Gmail and Outlook addresses are increasingly unreliable. The wedge sells a dollar outcome instead:

  • Klaviyo bills on every active profile since 18 Feb 2025 (secondary source), and suppressed profiles don't count.
  • Klaviyo has no native scheduled suppression. Its own community confirms the workaround is a webhook or a manual monthly click.
  • Klaviyo earns less when you suppress, so it has little reason to automate this for you.

Six wedges were compared in analysis/01. Research was run on 30 Sept 2026, with a confidence level on each claim. See research/10-verified-research.md.

Caveat

Team, hours per week, geography, Shopify or Klaviyo ecosystem access and budget were not provided. The assumptions are in analysis/09.

No verified base rate exists for bootstrapped B2B micro-SaaS reaching MRR levels. Every competitor revenue figure here is a Latka estimate, and the Mailfloss entry is visibly low quality (its founder field reads "John Smith"). All odds are judgment estimates.
