2. Market Reality Check
Competitor prices were read from vendor pricing pages on 30 Sept 2026 unless marked otherwise. Revenue figures are Latka estimates or founder interviews, labelled as such. Re-verify before using them externally. See research/10.
2.1 Who exactly is the buyer?
"Marketing agencies" is not a buyer. It's hundreds of thousands of firms, from one freelancer to networks with thousands of staff. Split by what they can pay and how much the report matters to them:
| Segment | What their clients judge them on | Willingness to pay for reporting | Pain score (1–10) | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancers and 1–3 person generalist agencies | "Are the numbers going up?" | $0–50/month. Many use Looker Studio templates for free. | 4. Reporting is a chore, not a threat. | Avoid as the core. Cheapest, most crowded, highest churn. |
| General small agencies (5–30 clients, mixed industries) | Traffic, leads, ROAS | $50–400/month. Already on AgencyAnalytics, DashThis, Swydo or Looker Studio. | 5–6 | The incumbents' core. No reason to switch to a new tool. |
| Agencies serving home-services contractors (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, garage doors) | Booked jobs and revenue. The owner asks "how many jobs did I get for my money?" | $100–500/month if it keeps clients (assumed, unverified) | 7. Clients fire agencies when leads don't turn into jobs, often because of the contractor's own intake. | Best buyer for a new entrant. A money question the general tools don't answer. |
| Local SEO agencies | Rankings, map pack, reviews | $30–200/month | 5 | Crowded with local-SEO specialists. Price-sensitive. |
| Amazon agencies | TACoS, organic vs ad sales, profit | $100–1,000/month | 6–7 | Real, but already served by Amazon-specific tools and AgencyAnalytics' Amazon Ads connector. |
| Healthcare marketing agencies | Booked appointments, patient leads | $200–1,000/month | 6 | HIPAA exposure. Not for a small tool. |
| In-house marketing teams and large agencies | Everything, in their BI tool | Enterprise budgets | 4 for a white-label tool | They buy Supermetrics, Funnel or BI. Different product. |
Overall pain score for the product as described: 4/10. Reporting takes time, but it's already automated cheaply. For home-services agencies, "prove booked jobs" scores 7: it decides whether the agency keeps the client.
2.2 Competitors and substitutes
General white-label reporting tools (the incumbents)
| Tool | Price (30 Sept 2026) | Scale | AI | Why agencies stay |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AgencyAnalytics | $20 per client per month (annual). Volume pricing from 25+ clients. Add-ons: rank tracker, "AI Tracker". | ~$15.7M ARR, 143 staff (Latka estimate, 2025) | AgencyAI insights, Ask AI, AI summaries in reports | 85+ integrations, including Google Local Services Ads (leads, calls, cost per lead, charge status) and Amazon Ads. |
| DashThis | $44 (3 dashboards), $139 (10), $279 (25), $429 (50) per month | $230K/month in 2021 (CEO). ~2,600 customers at ~$135/month, 3% monthly revenue churn (2022). $5.3M ARR (Latka, 2023) | AI Insights on all plans. AI Insights PRO add-on $19/month. MCP connector for Claude and ChatGPT. | Simple, 34+ integrations including Google Business Profile, CallRail and TikTok Ads. No LSA, no field-service software. |
| Whatagraph | €699/month (Max, annual, min 50 data-source credits). Prime is custom. | Not checked | Whatagraph IQ: auto reports, summaries, chat. IQ Agents in beta. | Mid-market agencies with many sources. |
| Swydo | €69/month for 10 data sources, then €4.50 / €3 / €2 each by volume | Not checked | 4,000 AI credits a month (~95 per summary) | Cheap, per data source. 38+ integrations. |
| Porter Metrics | ~$15/month (catalog figure; the pricing page couldn't be read this run) | Not checked | Not checked | Looker Studio connectors. The cheap end. |
| Reportz.io | Not checked | ~$220K ARR, 2 staff (Latka, 2025) | Not checked | Shows the likely outcome for a small general entrant. |
| Looker Studio | Free | Via Gemini (not checked) | Free, flexible, templates everywhere. |
Free AI substitutes (new in 2025–26)
- Google Ads MCP server: official, open source, free, read-only. It runs GAQL reports for Claude or ChatGPT. Maintained since Oct 2025 (secondary sources).
- Meta Ads AI Connectors: official MCP server at mcp.facebook.com/ads, open beta from 29 Apr 2026, supporting ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Perplexity (secondary sources).
- DashThis's MCP connector shows incumbents are joining this, not fighting it.
What this means: "we write the commentary with AI" is not a reason to buy. An agency can already ask an assistant "summarise last month for this client". What an assistant can't easily do is join ad data to the contractor's booked jobs every month, reliably, with the agency's logo on it.
The wedge's own competitors (revenue from field-service software)
| Tool | What it does | Why an agency might still want ReportRelay |
|---|---|---|
| WhatConverts | Call and lead tracking. Jobber integration upgraded 4 Aug 2026: requests, quotes, jobs and paid invoices tied to the lead ("Pro plans or higher"). Also integrates with JobNimbus. Agency plans: $500 / $800 / $1,250 a month, unlimited accounts. White-label +$50/month. | Only if the agency doesn't want to switch call tracking. WhatConverts is the closest competitor, and a strong one. |
| CallRail | Call tracking with a Jobber integration linking calls to jobs and revenue (secondary source, unverified detail). | Same: it's a call-tracking purchase, and its reports aren't built as the agency's monthly client report (unverified). |
| ServiceTitan Marketing Pro | Native ad ROI from booked jobs, including LSA. Reported at $200–600/month extra (secondary, unverified). | It doesn't. Avoid ServiceTitan clients at launch. |
| GoHighLevel | Agency CRM with built-in reports: Facebook Ads, call reporting, attribution source, white-label PDFs (secondary sources). Blogs note Google Ads data and multi-source joins need other tools. | Many home-services agencies run on it. Integrate with it later rather than fight it. |
| Jobber and Housecall Pro | Built-in lead-source fields and marketing tools. Jobber's attribution is described as "basic". | Their reports are for the contractor, not the agency, and don't include ad spend. |
Why agencies would stay with what they have
- AgencyAnalytics already has LSA and CallRail, and many agencies already pay for it.
- Changing the client report means re-onboarding every client's accounts.
- WhatConverts or CallRail already gives revenue for agencies that set it up.
Why they might switch (or add ReportRelay)
- The report answers the owner's question ("jobs and revenue for my money") without the agency switching call tracking.
- The "leads you didn't book" page shows the contractor where they lost revenue. It protects the retainer.
- Priced per client, at the same level as AgencyAnalytics, so it's a small, easy add.
2.3 Vitamin or painkiller?
As described: a vitamin with a free substitute. Automated reporting saves hours, but every agency already has it, and Looker Studio is free.
Recommended: a mild painkiller. A home-services agency losing a $1,500–3,000/month client (retainer range unverified) because the owner "doesn't see results" loses real money. A report that shows 17 booked jobs worth $28,400, and 9 unbooked leads the office never called back, changes that conversation.
Test: if ReportRelay disappeared tomorrow, what would the agency lose? For the general version: nothing; they'd open Looker Studio. For the recommended version: the monthly proof that keeps clients, which they'd have to rebuild by hand from exports.
2.4 Market size: venture-scale, lifestyle, or a feature?
Category size (top down): DashThis ($4–5M ARR) and AgencyAnalytics ($15.7M, estimate) show the white-label reporting category supports several companies in the $1–20M range. That's a lifestyle-to-mid-size market for the leaders, not a venture market for a new entrant.
Wedge size (bottom up, all unverified):
- US agencies that specialise in home services: assume ~2,000–5,000 (no count found).
- Share whose clients mostly use Jobber or Housecall Pro rather than ServiceTitan: assume ~40–60% (unverified).
- Share that would pay for a second reporting tool: assume 5–10%.
- Reachable paying agencies: ~50–300. At
$200 a month, that's **$10k–60k MRR** at full penetration.
Answer:
- General white-label reporting: a feature of an increasingly commoditised category, owned by incumbents and free tools.
- Booked-job reporting for home-services agencies: a small lifestyle business ($3–20k MRR). It could grow only by adding similar niches (roofing on JobNimbus, pest control, cleaning) on the same matching engine.
2.5 Geography
- US first. LSA, Jobber and Housecall Pro are strongest in the US and Canada, and US contractors spend heavily on Google.
- Canada is a natural second market (Jobber is Canadian). Check LSA availability by category first.
- Not the EU at launch. GDPR and different local-ad products change the product. Google's automated LSA credits also exclude EMEA.
