As described:StopNarrowed:NarrowNo as described. Go, small, as booked-job reports for home-services agencies, only with agency access.
home-services agencies · ~$200 a month per paying agency · last reviewed (next review by 29 Dec 2026) · 42 cited sources
Start this week
- Tell me your hours per week available, whether you've worked in or with a home-services agency, and whether you've built on the Google Ads API before.
- List 30 home-services agency owners you can reach, and book 12–15 calls. Ask about their last 3 lost clients and show you the report they send today.
- Build the hand-made kit: CallRail call export + Jobber invoice export + Google Ads and LSA export → match by phone number in a spreadsheet → a one-page booked-jobs report.
- Apply for a Google Ads API developer token and create a Jobber developer app. Prove you can pull one LSA lead (
local_services_lead) and one Jobber invoice.
Checkpoints and kill gates
Decide in advance what counts as on track. Missing a checkpoint means changing the buyer or the offer, not adding features.
Day 30
~15 hrs/week
12 agency calls, 3 agencies paying ≥$99/month for hand-built reports
Full-time
15 calls, 5 paying
If you miss it
Switch once, to LSA-heavy agencies only (LSA leads to booked jobs, no Meta). Missing twice means stop: the answer is No.
Day 90
~15 hrs/week
v1 live (Google Ads + LSA, CallRail, Jobber), 5 paying agencies, ≥60% of leads auto-matched
Full-time
v1 live, 8 paying, ≥60% matched
If you miss it
Cut to the single page agencies actually send (usually the booked-jobs summary).
Month 6
~15 hrs/week
$750 MRR, ≥70% of leads matched, ≥70% of agencies still paying after month 3
Full-time
$1.2k MRR, same quality bars
If you miss it
Pivot A: Housecall Pro agencies only. Pivot B: sell the report as a done-for-you monthly service per client, then automate.
Month 12
~15 hrs/week
$2k MRR, ≤3% monthly churn
Full-time
$3.5k MRR, ≤3% churn
If you miss it
Stop adding features. Fix onboarding, matching and churn. A profitable $2–4k product is a valid outcome.
Month 18
~15 hrs/week
$3.5k MRR
Full-time
$6.5k MRR
If you miss it
Put everything into the best source of agencies. Decide whether to add a second trade system (e.g. JobNimbus for roofing).
Month 24
~15 hrs/week
$5k MRR
Full-time
$10k MRR
If you miss it
Above target with churn ≤3%: aim for the $20k rung in year 3. $1–5k: run it as a small profitable product. Below $1k: stop, or sell the code and customers.
Do
1.Make "booked jobs per ad dollar" the product. Every report opens with one sentence a contractor understands: "You spent $3,100. We sent 41 calls and leads. 17 became jobs worth $28,400."
Target: Every report's first line is a dollar figure
Why: Contractors don't read CTR. Agencies get fired when the owner says "the ads don't work". Nobody in the general category leads with booked revenue.
2.Sell to one niche: US agencies serving home-services contractors whose clients run Jobber or Housecall Pro.
Target: ≥70% of paying agencies in this niche through month 18
Why: It gives you one message, one set of connectors and one community to sell into.
3.Six connectors maximum until $5k MRR: Google Ads (with LSA leads), CallRail and Jobber in v1. Then Housecall Pro, Meta Ads and Google Business Profile.
Target: v1 with 3 connectors by week 8
Why: Each connector is permanent maintenance. The leader has 85+. You win on depth in six, not on count.
4.Build lead-to-job matching as the core engine. Match calls and leads to Jobber or Housecall Pro requests, quotes, jobs and invoices by normalized phone number, email and a time window. Show an "unmatched" queue the agency can fix in two minutes.
Target: ≥70% of leads auto-matched by month 6
Why: This is the hard part, and the only part a general dashboard doesn't do. A wrong "$0 revenue" line destroys trust.
5.Sell before you build. Hand-build booked-job reports from CSV exports (CallRail calls, Jobber invoices, Google Ads and LSA) for 3–5 agencies, for a fee.
Target: 3 agencies paying ≥$99/month by day 30
Why: It proves agencies will pay for a second reporting tool before you spend 8 weeks on integrations.
6.Price per contractor account: $19 per client per month, $99 minimum (5 clients), annual at 10× monthly. Founding agencies get $15 per client, locked for 12 months.
Target: Blended ≥$180 per agency. ≥40% on annual by month 12.
Why: Same unit and level as AgencyAnalytics ($20 per client), so the comparison is about booked revenue, not price. Never undercut: Porter Metrics already sits at ~$15/month.
7.Write the commentary for a contractor, grounded only in the report's numbers. The agency reviews and edits it before sending. Keep AI cost per report under $0.10.
Target: Agencies send ≥80% of summaries with light edits
Why: AI summaries are table stakes now (AgencyAnalytics, DashThis, Whatagraph and Swydo all include them). Yours has to be the one that talks about jobs and revenue.
8.Add a "leads you didn't book" page: missed calls, LSA leads with no job, quotes with no follow-up after 7 days.
Target: ≥50% of reports include it. Agencies cite it on client calls.
Why: It moves the blame for lost revenue to where it often belongs (intake), protects the agency's retainer, and is the reason agencies renew.
9.Go where home-services agencies already are: your own network, home-services agency communities and coaching groups, a Jobber App Marketplace listing, and SEO for "cost per booked job", "LSA report template" and "HVAC marketing report".
Target: ≥40% of trials from organic, marketplace or referral by month 9
Why: The general terms ("client reporting tool") are owned by incumbents with years of content. The niche terms are thinner.
10.Monitor every connector and block silent gaps. Check each report for sudden zeros and missing fields before sending, and alert the agency.
Target: Zero reports sent with silently missing data
Why: Meta's Jan 2026 change returned empty data with no error. One wrong report sent to a contractor costs the agency the client.
11.Automate operations from day one: self-serve OAuth onboarding per client, a template per trade, docs for every connector error, and scheduled sending.
Target: ≤1 support ticket per 10 agencies a month
Why: At limited hours per week, every repeated question has to become a doc or a fix.
12.Keep as little customer data as possible. Store hashed phone numbers, job IDs, dates and totals. Don't store homeowners' names, addresses or call recordings.
Target: Zero homeowner addresses stored
Why: It reduces privacy exposure (CCPA and state laws) and makes security questions easy.
Avoid
1.A general white-label dashboard for every kind of agency
Why: AgencyAnalytics charges $20 per client with 85+ integrations and AI included. DashThis starts at $44. Swydo at €69. Looker Studio is free. You'd be the 30th option.
2.Racing incumbents on connector count
Why: You can't catch 85 connectors, and each one is permanent upkeep.
3.Agencies whose clients run ServiceTitan (at launch)
Why: ServiceTitan's Marketing Pro already shows ad ROI from booked jobs natively. That's the largest contractors, and they have their own answer.
4.Building call tracking
Why: CallRail and WhatConverts own it. Read from them.
5.Selling AI commentary as the differentiator
Why: Every incumbent includes it, and the official Google Ads and Meta MCP servers let agencies get it from Claude or ChatGPT for free.
6.A drag-and-drop dashboard builder
Why: It's months of work, it's what Looker Studio does for free, and agencies in this niche want a finished report, not a canvas.
7.Healthcare, legal or Amazon agencies at launch
Why: Healthcare adds HIPAA risk. Legal and Amazon are other niches with their own systems of record and competitors. Pick one niche.
8.Selling to contractors directly
Why: It's a different buyer with a different sale, and Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan sell them marketing tools already. The agency is your customer.
9.Scraping, or any unofficial data source
Why: It breaks platform terms and gets your API access pulled. Official APIs only.
10.A free plan or lifetime deals
Why: Free reporting already exists (Looker Studio). Free accounts add support load and connector cost with no revenue. Use a 14-day trial.
11.Promising "true attribution" or multi-touch accuracy
Why: Phone matching misses some leads. Say "matched leads" and show the unmatched ones. Overclaiming leads to refunds and bad reviews.
12.Holding or moving any money (e.g. taking the contractor's payments, billing clients for the agency)
Why: Payments add licensing and fraud risk and aren't needed for this target.
13.Paid ads before month 6
Why: Ads to "marketing agencies" are expensive and bid against incumbents with large budgets.
14.Adding connectors when a checkpoint fails
Why: A miss means the wrong niche or the wrong promise. Change that, not the connector list.
