9. Assumptions and Open Inputs

The idea came as one row in the 30 Sept 2026 micro-SaaS idea catalog (D1). Team, location, hours per week, agency access and pricing were not supplied. Here's what was assumed, and how the verdict changes if each assumption is wrong.

9.1 Assumptions made

InputAssumption usedIf actually different…
Target customerAs described: local businesses, direct. Recommended: UK and Irish web-design agencies.Already inside a network of 50+ agencies: the odds move toward the top of each band, or multiply by ~1.3.
GeographyUK and Ireland firstUS-based with no UK access: the recommended odds fall to roughly the "US agency white-label" column in 01, because of GoHighLevel.
PricingAgency £39 / £79 / £159, Direct £12, blended ~$100 per agency accountAgencies won't pay over £25: $10k needs ~250 agencies, so halve the $10k+ odds.
Exchange rate£1 = $1.30A 10% swing moves the customer counts by ~10%.
StageIdea. No code, no users, no revenue.A live widget with users: send the numbers, since retention data outweighs most of this.
TeamOne technical founderNon-technical: an extra ~£10–20k build cost, and slower fixes to API breakage.
Hours per weekTwo columns: ~15 hrs/week and full-timeUnder 10 hrs/week: support alone (Cause #3 in 05) makes $5k+ unlikely.
Google API accessGranted within 45 days, and the display model allowedRefused, or display ruled out: stop. There's no compliant product.
Agency churn≤2.5%/month with the client report in useAt 5%, $20k is out of reach at 15 hrs/week.
GoHighLevel share among UK web-design agenciesLow (unverified)High: the wedge collapses into the US problem. Test it on the first 20 calls.
Competitor dataAs checked on 30 Sept 2026 (10). Trustindex paid prices are third-party.Re-check Repuso, Trustindex and LocalImpact before launch. They're the direct comparisons.

9.2 Inputs that would change the verdict most (please supply)

  1. Hours per week available, and for how many months.
  2. Where you're based, and whether you can sell to UK or Irish agencies (network, language, time zone).
  3. Whether you have a Google Business Profile verified for 60+ days (your own business), with a website. It's needed for API access.
  4. Any agency relationships you already have, and how many.
  5. Your technical background. Google OAuth, email/SMS deliverability, and WordPress plugin work.
  6. Any existing product or users.
  7. Budget: at least ~£2k for a UK consumer-law review and ~£100/month in tools for the first 6 months.

9.3 Definitions used throughout

  • Agency account: one paying web-design agency, covering 15–150 client locations depending on plan.
  • Location: one Google Business Profile listing connected to ReviewPin.
  • Honest by default: newest first, all ratings, Google's own average and count shown, a "how these reviews are chosen" notice, and hidden reviews only for logged, FTC-permitted reasons.
  • Review gating: asking customers about their experience first, and sending only positive ones to the public review site.
  • Logo churn: the share of paying agency accounts that cancel in a month.
  • Tier A / Tier B: as in the portfolio README.
