8. The Next 90 Days
The plan assumes about 15 hours a week. With full-time effort, the same steps fit in about 60 days.
The single most important thing
Get 50 people to pay for a calibrated reading plus 30 days of chat before building the app.
- Audience: Hindi, Hinglish and English speakers aged 22–40 in India, plus Indian-origin users abroad, who already check astrology at least monthly. They face a live question about career, marriage timing or relocation.
- Job: "Tell me what's coming for me specifically, answer my follow-up questions without a ₹30/minute meter running, and be right about my past so I can trust you about my future."
- How: a concierge version. A form (Tally or Typeform) collects birth details and the calibration questions. A tested chart library computes the chart. You and an LLM draft the reading, and you check it. The follow-up chat runs on WhatsApp for 30 days. Charge from day one: ₹299 in India, $9 abroad.
Week by week
| Weeks | Goal | Exit criteria |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Chart accuracy and the quiz. Pick the chart library and settings (Lahiri ayanamsa by default). Compare 200 charts against a reference tool. Draft 12 calibration questions with an experienced astrologer (advisor, paid per hour). | ≥99% match on lagna, nakshatra and dasha dates. A quiz that shifts the rectified time on at least 30% of "approximate" birth times. |
| 3–4 | Pre-sell. Post 20 short videos or carousels ("Answer 10 questions, and we'll find your real birth time"). Share in 5 relevant communities. Deliver readings by hand. Charge for it. | 50 paying. Below 20 means the hook is wrong: test compatibility-first or career-first before anything else. |
| 5–10 | Thin v1 (web app / PWA + WhatsApp): birth details → quiz → rectified chart → grounded chat with memory → personal daily card on WhatsApp → shareable compatibility result. Guardrails in from day one. Web payments (Razorpay for India, Stripe for USD). | Concierge users move over. They ask 3+ questions a week. |
| 11–12 | Measure and decide. | 150+ payers, ≥45% of monthly payers renew for month 2, ≥30% of new users from shares or referrals, LLM cost below 15% of revenue. |
What to measure from day one
- Activation: finishes the calibration quiz and asks a first question (target ≥50% of signups).
- Aha: "Did the past-event check feel accurate?" 1–5 rating (target median ≥4).
- Habit: day-7 return ≥25%, daily-card opens ≥3 a week among payers.
- Money: free-to-paid ≥3% within 14 days, month-2 renewal ≥45%, refunds <3%.
- Loop: share of new users arriving via a shared compatibility or ascendant card.
Kill criteria
Fewer than 20 paying by day 30, or month-2 renewal below 30% by day 90: the hook or audience is wrong. Change the entry question (compatibility, career timing, or rectification-only) or the audience (diaspora-only). Don't respond by adding tarot, numerology or a palm-accuracy project.
The one thing to stop
Stop planning native apps and palm-line accuracy. Palm reading is a 30-second hook, and the store listing can wait until the web version retains. Build the accurate chart, the quiz and the memory first. Nothing else tells you whether people will pay twice.
